Frank Bibbins - Class Of 1899

Dr. Francis E. Bibbins, 68, for 45 years chief pharmacist for Eli Lilly and Co., at Indianapolis, died Saturday at his home in the capital city. A native of Beloit, Wisconsin, he came to Delphi with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Bibbins, as a high school lad, when Mr. Bibbins became superintendent of the City Water Works here. He was graduated from Delphi high school in 1899, and from Purdue university in 1904. He also attended Butler university. He was a past president of the’ board of directors of the Butler Pharmacy school. Dr. Ribbins was a member of the Central Avenue Methodist church, Marion Lodge of the F. and AM., Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Raper Commandry, Indiana Academy of Science, American Pharmaceutic Association, American Chemical Society, Columbia Club and Indianapolis Athletic Club. Funeral arrangements have been delayed pending the return home of a son, Capt. Eugene B. Bibbins, serving in Korea. Services will be at Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill cemetery. Survivors, besides the son, are the widow, Mrs. Seelye A. Bibbins; a daughter, Mrs. Albert Hart, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Fred Hencke, Lafayette, and four grandchildren. His father passed away in Delphi. A number of his classmates in the local high school reside here.
