Donald Sheets - Class Of 1940

Donald H. Sheets, 68, who lived with his son, William C. Sheets, in Lafayette, died there at 4:45 p.m. June 1, 1990, after a lingering illness. He was born May 4, 1922, in Carroll County, and graduated from Delphi High School. He moved from Delphi to Lafayette in 1950. He retired in 1972 from Alcoa, where he was a foreman in the shipping department for 31 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 75 at Delphi, the 40 et 8 Chateau, Eagles Lodge, and Moose Lodge, all at Lafayette, and the 25-year Club at Alcoa. Surviving are another son, Garry D. Sheets of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Eva McGlothlin of Monticello, Helen Shaffer of Lafayette and Dona Sigman of Montmorenci; two brothers, Raymond Sheets of Flora and Bob Sheets of Delphi; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services and burial were Tuesday in Lafayette.
