Wanda Hendryx (Wilson) - Class Of 1945

Wanda Wilson, 89, of Delphi passed away on December 21, 2016 at Milners Community Healthcare. Wanda was born to the late Claude and Grace (Hornbeck) Hendryx on August 1, 1927 in Royal Center, Indiana. She attended Pittsburg School in Pittsburg, Indiana.

Wanda married Donald L. Wilson on May 10, 1946 in Remington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1980

Mrs. Wilson was the Matron at the Carroll County Jail for Sherriffs Don Roth and Lee Hoard for 14 years before her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and Delphi American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. 

Wanda loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by her children: Larry Moore (Shirley) of Flora, James Wilson (Shirley) of Lafayette, Rex Wilson (Brenda), Douglas Wilson (Janella), Rose Hoshaw all of Delphi, Donna Sue Greer (Dean) of Mulberry, and Cheryl Roberson (Ted) of Rossville; Grandchildren:  Larry Moore II, Todd Hoshaw, Tina Riley, Kyle Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Deanna Padgett, Dawn Lorton, Danielle Gilbert, Dawn Wilson, Shawn Hill, Shalyn Wilson, Kristen Miller, Karie Gorbett, Troy Roberson, Alissa Cramer, Gerran Wilson and 34 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

She was preceded by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters; 2 Grandchildren: Bif Shank and Nicole Howard.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi with funeral services at 2:00 PM. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg, Indiana.
