William Schweiger - Class Of 1928

William E. Schweiger, 51, former Delphi resident, died Tuesday night of last week, a few hours after entering Culver hospital in Crawfordsville. He had submitted to surgery in February and was released March 15 but cause of his death although undertermined was not attributed to the surgery. Mr. Schweiger, who lived at 505 Englewood Drive, Crawfordsville, was district manager for the Indianapolis Star-News. He had moved to Crawfordsville 3-1/2 years ago from Greenfield. Born in Delphi August 20, 1908 to Fred and Mae Downs Schweiger, he was graduated from Delphi high school. He was married to Beulah K. Flora, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Flora, this city, on June 8, 1929 in Delphi and established a home and lived here several years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church at Crawfordsville, a member and Past Master of the Masconic lodge at Delphi, Rose Chapter Eastern Star in Delphi, Masonic Chapter 96 RAM, Greenfield, Scottish Rite and Shrine. Besides the wife he leaves an aunt, Goldie Downs of Delphi. Final rites were at the Bright funeral home in Crawfordsville Friday with Rev. Hilton Whitaker in cheirge. Burial was made in Maple Lawn cemetery at Flora where the Delphi Masonic lodge conducted graveside rites.
