James Hill

After school, James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, CA. James married Liz Fee in Rockfield on December 5, 1987. He worked for Robbins Farms in Carroll County for 21 years and was a member of the First Free Methodist Church in Lafayette. James passed away at his home on May 30, 2007, after an 11 month battle with colon cancer. He is survived by his wife Liz, their daughter Keri and son Squire. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bethie.
 

James Wesley Hill, 42, of Delphi, passed away May 30, 2007, at 10:30 p.m. in his home.  He had battled cancer since June 2006.
  He was born Nov. 14, 1964, in Frankfort, to Clara M. Phillips Hill, who survives and lives in Delphi, and the late Charles W. Hill.  His marriage was to Elizabeth A. "Liz" Fee in Rockfield on Dec. 5, 1987, and she survives.
  Mr. Hill was a 1984 graduate of Delphi Community High School.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, Calif.
  He worked for Robbins Farms in Carroll County for 21 years and was a member of the First Free Methodist Church in Lafayette.
  He enjoyed yard work, vegetable gardening, especially raising tomatoes, and was an avid Oakland Raiders football fan.  He was always helping others, and always put his family and friends before himself.
  Surviving are a daughter, Keri L. Hill of Lafayette; a son, Squire J. Hill of Delphi; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Schimmel Hill Cambridge of Frankfort; his wife's grandmother, Jean "Non" Fee of Lafayette; three sisters, Tina Hill (companion: Teresa Sission) of Bringhurst, Cindy Heath (husband: Jeff) of Indianapolis and Katy Albaugh (husband: Phil) of Kokomo; four brothers, Robert "Rob" Hill (wife: Leisha) and Kenny Hill (wife: Susan), all of Delphi; David Hill (wife: Lisa) of Burrows and Chris Hill of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bethie.
  Services were held June 4 at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi, with Pastor Zach Martin officiating.  Burial with Camden American Legion Post #413 military rites was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
  Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
