Linda Whitman,( Lybrook) age 83 of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 20, 2024 after a courageous fight with lung cancer.

Linda was born on September 21, 1940 to William and Cora Lybrook in Pittsburg, Indiana. After Linda graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1958, she went on to airline School to become a stewardess for Eastern Airlines.

In 1961 Linda met Jim Whitman at a party in Hollywood, CA, and married on February 4, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Linda and Jim went on to have 5 children, James, Stephen, Teresa (Terry), Jean (Jeannie), and Christine (Chrissy)

In 1982 Linda joined California State Police as a Dispatcher/911 Operator, and spent over 20 years serving them faithfully. After retirement she volunteered twice a week at the Santa Clarita Senior Center from 2009-2018 .

Linda was predeceased by her husband Jim, parents Cora and William, siblings Grant, Billy, Hazel, Rose, Dorothy, Becky and Charlie. She is survived by children, James (Jill) Stephen (Roslyn) Terry, Jeannie, and Chrissy, Grandchildren: Shaughn, Kellie, PJ, Ashleigh, Nathan and Adam,  And a gaggle of great grandchildren

Services will be held at Carrillo Mortuary, South Chapel 204 S. Stone Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85701 on Saturday March 2, 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society.

Burial will take place April 27, 2024 1pm at the Masonic Cemetery, 900 S Masonic St, Delphi, Indiana 46923
