Merrell, Thomas Lee, 81, of Clearwater passed away on 10-21-21 at Mease Countryside Hospital. Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Oliver Merrell; daughter Lori Leggett (Verneil), granddaughters, Nicole Hood (Bobby), Ashlee Whitsett (Matt) and Mallory White (Cody); grandsons Travis and Bret Merrell, brothers William “Mick” Merrell and Charles Merrell (Geri) and sister Jan Merrell Riley, Stepmother Helen Merrell as well as 5 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many wonderful special friends. Tom was preceded in death by son, Craig Merrell, his parents John Merrell & Betty Merrell Rensky and brother Stephen Merrell as well as beloved schnauzers Shandy & Cody.

Tom was born in Lafayette, IN on 8-2-1940 and lived in Delphi, until graduation from Delphi High School in 1958. He worked in Real Estate and Mortgage Banking in Illinois and Indiana until moving to Clearwater in 1981 where he began work with Wilder Corporation as a company pilot, later becoming General Manager. After retirement in June of 2014, Tom and Judy enjoyed extensive traveling in their motorhome for several years.

Services will be held at Davidson Funeral Home (765) 564-2211 in Delphi, IN on Saturday, October 30, 2021 beginning at 12:30 pm. After burial in the Masonic Cemetery, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Wabash & Erie Canal Conference Center in Delphi. An additional Celebration of Life will be held in Clearwater, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of Tom to a charity of your choice or if you are a smoker, the very best way to honor him will be to quit smoking.
