Paul Nipple - Class Of 1958

Paul Nipple

Military rites are being planned for Aviation Cadet Paul Eugene Nipple, 20, student pilot, killed Monday in the crash of an Air Force T-37 jet trainer from Bainbridge Air Base, Ga. The youth, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Carl M. Nipple, who reside one-half mile east of Burrows on the Tom Scott farm, on Route 2, Camden, was on a solo navigation flight from Bainbridge to Selma Alabama, when the plane crashed five miles north of Hartford, Alabama. Authorities said an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the crash. The telegram of notification sent by Major Felix Scott of the Bain bridge Air Force Base stated a letter with further details would be sent as soon as possible. Born in Logansport July 20, 1940 he was the son of Carl M. and Vera Davis Nipple. He was graduated from Delphi High School in 1958. Mechanically inclined, he had worked at Gerber Industries of Delphi, Randolph’s at Burrows and for Harold Allread, a neighbor. On January 25 of this year he enlisted in the Air Force and was first sent to Lockland Air Base in Texas. He was transferred April 25 to the Bainbridge Air Base. Survivors are the parents; his fiancee, Miss Alice Preston, Delphi, several aunts, uncles and cousins. The body will be returned to Logansport to the McCloskey-Hamilton funeral home.

I can tell you that Paul Nipple was killed in an airplane crash while in the Military. I am presently trying to find some relatives.  Paul Nipple used to work for my Father, and when my Dad passed away I have been trying to get things to people that I think they would want.  I have a letter from Paul Nipple, and some pictures.  So if any of his classmates could help me on this I would appreciate it...Thank you....

Have you contacted any of the Nipple family that still reside in Rockfield?

My Great Grandmother's Maiden name was Nipple and she resided in Rockfield. There are no more of her siblings that are alive. However, there still are many family members that live in and around the Rockfield area. I hope this may help you.
