John Williams

John D. Williams, 69 of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, in Sun City Center, Fla.
  He was born on March 30, 1940 and grew up in Delphi.  He graducated from Purdue University in 1968 with a B.A. degree in Agricultural Economics.
  Mr. Williams worked for IUPUI as a Campus Auxiliary Services Director from 1968 until he retired in 2000.  During his 32 years with the university he belonged to a number of professional organizatios including In-Plant Printing Management Association (IPMA).  In 1994 he was awarded the honor of IPMA's Fellow Member.  At the time, this prestigious honor had only been granted eight times in the 30-year history of the association.
  Mr. Williams also dedicated many years of civic service to the Salvation Army of Indiana as a board member and devoted volunteer.
  He was also a member of Speedway Baptist Church, the Indianapolis Universal Club, and Sciencetech Club.
  He will forever be remembered by his wife.  Janet (Simko) Williams; children, Kristi Williams, Tami Williams, Amanda Khiri and Larry Willams; ex-wife, Sheri Yoder; and sister, Linda (Williams) Morrison.
  Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Friday, Sept. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Mortuary, Indianapolis.  Additional visitation will be at Speedway Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army of Indiana or to St. Luke's Children's Research Hospital.
