Jennifer L. Venters, 38, of Delphi, died Oct. 8, 2002, at 7:25 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Medical Center Emergency Room, from injuries sustained in an early morning auto accident in Carroll County on SR 25 N.
  She was born Aug. 11, 1964, in Lafayette, to Clifford and Barbara "Bobbie" Sheetz Venters, who survive.
  Miss Venters was employed at Indiana State Hospital-Logansport for the past five years, working as a ward attendant in the Dodge 1 East Dorm.  She formerly worked for the Delphi Police Department as a dispatcher for nine years, and was a former Carroll County EMT.
  She was a 1982 graduate of Delphi Community High School, and had attended classes at the Indiana Police Academy and through her work at the hospital.  She was a member of Delphi Christian Church.  For years, she umpired Delphi youth baseball and girls softball leagues.
  Miss Venter enjoyed fishing, and she was a avid Purdue University sports fan.
  Surviving with her parents are two sisters, Aundrea Grimes and Natalie Arnett, both of Delphi; her childhood friend with whom she made her home, Leta Hunt; and three nieces.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
  Services were at Abbott Funeral Home on Oct. 14 with Rev. Dan Gottschalk officiating.  Burial was at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
  Memorial may be made to the Delphi Youth Baseball or Delphi Girls Softball programs.
