Bedeva Bowling

Bedeva L. Moss Bowling, 82, of Delphi, died Thurs-July 18, 2013, at 1:15am, at IU Health Arnett Hospital-Laf. She was born July 7, 1931 in Mell, KY, to the late John Marshall & Allie Lee Moss. Her marriage was to Goldmon Bowling in Columbia, KY, on June 2, 1949, and he survives. She was a 1951 graduate of Jeff High School, received her BS degree in 1965, and her MS degree 1968, both in education, from Purdue University-West Lafayette. She taught home economics for 2 years at the former Monroe Street School in Delphi, then taught home ec at Delphi Community High School for 18 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church since 1957, belonged to the United Methodist Women, and the Wesley Wed Sunday school class, where she was a past Sunday school teacher. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the IN State Teachers Assoc. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and was community minded, always wanting to help others or their cause, by volunteering her time and talents. She and her husband for 3 winters, helped with the cleanup efforts after hurricane's Hugo & Andrew, through the United Methodist Church disaster relief service-UMCOR. Surviving: husband Goldmon Bowling of Delphi; a son Daniel Barry Bowling of Battle Ground; sister Vennie Coffey of Greensburg, KY; 2 grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 son's Wayne & Clark, 4 sisters', 5 brothers'. Services: Friends may call Sunday from 3-6pm at Abbott Funeral Home-Delphi. Funeral service Monday 10:30am at the Delphi United Methodist Church, Rev. Sheri Rohrer officiating. Burial at Masonic Cemetery-Delphi. Memorial contributions to the Carroll Co.
