John Dunn

 John R. Dunn, 60, of Delphi, died at 12:52 a.m. April 29, 1993, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
 Born Sept. 23, 1932, in Vincennes, he was the son of Guy Joseph and Grace Dunn.  His marriage was on March 15, 1963, in Evansville, to Janet G. Wilson, who survives.
  He had taught fifth grade at Hillcrest Elementary School, Delphi, since 1978 and was planning to retire for health reasons at the end of this school year.  He also had been a part-time manager at the Delphi Dairy Queen since 1975.
  His teaching career began in 1964, when he taught agriculture and science at Camden High School.  From 1966 to 1970, he was a teacher and principal at Burrows Elementary School.  He then taught fifth grade at Camden Elementary School until going to Hillcrest.
  He was a 1950 graduate of Wheatland High School, and a 1958 graduate of Vincennes University.  In 1960 he received his B.S. degree in science from Purdue University.  He received his master's degree in education from Indiana University in 1970.
  He was a medical technician in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
  He was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church, Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge 48 in Delphi, American Legion 777 of Indianapolis, Carroll County Farm Bureau, Delphi Classroom Teachers Association, Indiana State Teachers Association, National Education Association, and I.U. and Purdue Alumni associations.
  Also surviving are one daughter, Julie A. Hawn, and one son, John J. Dunn, both of Delphi; a sister Mildred Marquardt of Baraboo, Wisc.; and two grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers.
 Services were Saturday at Delphi United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Ashley and Rev. Richard Pettys officiating.  Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens with military rites.  Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
