Mrs. Howard became a great friend and mentor to me. She had gone through so much and seemed to have just found a lot of happiness shortly before she passed.
Thanks for all the long talks and the "kick in the pants" when I needed it.

We became friends after I started high school. We would meet for lunch sometimes or just talk at her home. She had been through a lot but was never afraid to tell you what she thought. Even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. She gave me two bird figurines a couple of years before she died. I still have them and they are sitting in my living room. I know she is looking down at all of us from heaven. I miss her even today. God bless you Jean!
