Loretta “Jane” Norton (Lantz), 70, passed away at 4:00 am on June 24, 2022 at her residence after a long battle with cancer. Jane was born on April 11, 1952 in Lafayette, IN and she was the daughter of Evan and Betty (Johns) Lantz. She married Jim Norton on July 6, 1974.

Jane was a graduate of Delphi High School in Delphi, IN and went on to Purdue University and obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for the Daviess County Health Department where she was instrumental in starting the vaccination clinics for the county. She was affectionately known as the “Shot Lady.” She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was very active serving as a deacon and elder. Jane was a member of RSVP, Tri Kappa, April Debs and volunteered with the Daviess County Hospital Auxiliary. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim, crocheting, gardening, and playing cards.

Jane is survived by her husband Jim Norton of Washington, IN; her children, daughter, Shannon Norton of Indianapolis, IN; son, Andrew Norton of Washington, IN; and her brothers, Loran Lantz and his wife Geraldine of Delphi, IN and Keith Lantz of Queen Creek, AZ.; and her niece and nephew Jennifer and Jeffery Lantz. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Betty Lantz, niece Rachel Lantz, and sister-in-law, Julie Lantz

Friends may visit with Jane’s family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home and from 9-11 am on Thursday June 30, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 110 NE 2nd Street, Washington, IN. Following the visitation Thursday a memorial service will be held for Jane and Rev. Cheryl Thorne will officiate. Jane will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers Jane requested donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church for scholarships to Camp PYOCA. Online memories may be shared with Jane’s family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
