Janice Burkhalter

Janice M. Burkhalter, 17, of Rt. 4, Delphi, died Monday in an automobile accident north of Delphi.
  Born Oct. 8, 1953, she was the daughter of Jack and Augusta Marshall Burkhalter.
  She was employed at the Dog "N Suds, Delphi.  A 1971 graduate of Delphi Community High School, she was vice president of her class freshman, sophomore and junior year and also cheerleader for three years.
  Other high school activities were Girls Service Club, French Club, Future Teachers of America, Girls' Athletic Association, Sunshine Society, American Field Service and a participant in the 1970 Variety Show.  She was a member of the All-Star Girls' Softball team.
  Survivors besides the parents are three brothers, Don of Delphi, Max of Pekin, Ill., and Bob of Kokomo; two sisters, Mrs. Sue Penn of Rt. 4, Delphi, and Mrs. Mary Bradshaw of Rt. 4, Delphi; and a maternal grandmother; Mrs. Clora Marshall of Mulberry.
  Services are today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at Lloyd Funeral Home, Delphi, with the Rev. John Laprad officiating.  Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
