Robert Dean Matthews, 47, Delphi, formerly of Lafayette, died at 2:30 a.m. on May 13, 2001, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
  Born June 16, 1953, he was the son of Harold H. and Meredith J. Loy Matthews.
  Mr. Matthews was a 1971 graduate of Delphi Comunity High School and was a mechanic at Alcoa.  His marriage was June 2, 1984, to Linda Finckbone and she survives.
  He was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church.
  Also surviving are a daughter, Sarah Matthews of Lafayette; two step-sons, Mike Price of Champaign, Ill., and Chad Price of San Diego, Calif; a step-daughter, Holly Price of Lafayette; a sister, Janice Matthews Burkhart of Delphi; a brother, Richard Doug Matthews; and four grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
  Services were today (Wednesday) at Davidson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Ellcessor officiating.  Burial was at Zion Cemetery in Flora.  Memorials contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.
