Richard E. Scott, 69, of rural Camden, passed away Tuesday-February 28, 2023, at 2:35pm, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born December 16, 1953, in Logansport, to the late James & Joan Wise Scott. He married Patsy A. Russell Maynard in Delphi, on August 29, 1998, and she survives. Richard was a 1972 graduate of Delphi High School and received his BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University in 1976. Richard farmed with his brother Steve and nephew Jason in Carroll and Cass Counties, Scott Bro's Inc. He loved to farm, and just being outside, working around his home or checking fields or hanging out in their shop tinkering with equipment. Richard was a member of the Logansport Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed Purdue University men's sports. He loved to tell stories, even if you didn't understand it in true "dad" fashion and had a great sense of humor. Family was everything to Richard, and he dearly loved them all. He loved to host family gatherings at his home and loved all of his grandchildren.
