Joseph Storey

Joseph Dale Storey, 55, of 1691 E. Indiana 218 in Walton, died unexpectedly at 7 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at his residence. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer Jan. 4.

Born Aug. 22, 1955, in Lafayette, he was the son of Geneva F. Draper Storey of Delphi and the late Keller C. Storey. He was a 1973 graduate of Delphi High School, and completed many technical recertifications for auto mechanics through the GM school in Illinois and Ivy Tech in Lafayette. He lived in Delphi until moving to Walton seven years ago.

He married Thelma L. Furst in Delphi on June 25, 1985, and she survives.

An employee of Dick Krieg Motors in Delphi for the past 28 years, he was a master auto technician. He enjoyed auto mechanics.

Surviving with his wife and mother are a son, Joseph "JP" Storey (wife: Heather) of Delphi; a daughter, Kendra Koski (husband: Randy Kidd) of Brownsburg; three brothers, Dave Storey (wife: Janie) and Richard Storey (wife: Carole), both of Delphi, and Raymond Storey (wife: Mary) of Frankfort; and two sisters, Geneva Lucas (husband: Lester) of Greencastle and Kelley Howard of Monticello.

Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Adisyn and Brayden Storey and Annabelle Kidd. Preceded in death by a nephew, Ed. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, who dearly loved his family and his working family at Dick Krieg Motors.

Friends may call Monday 5-8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Service there Tuesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Todd Ladd officiating. Burial IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg
