Richard Joe "Rick" Wertz, 51, of 6221 N 225 E., Camden, died at 10:10 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2006, at his residence.  He had been in ill health for the past seven years. 
  Born Oct. 18, 1954, in Logansport, he was the son of Keith and Carmen Sue Lenon Wertz.  His marriage was to Maylana Johnson on Oct. 24, 1998, in Camden and she survives.
  He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and was responsible for refueling aircraft.
  His last employment was at Select Seed Hybrids, Camden.
  Mr. Wertz was a member of the Camden First Baptist Church.
  Also surviving are his mother, of Camden; two daughters, Miranda "Mandy" Hughes (husband: Donnie) of Flora, and Maggie Sue Wertz of Camden; an adopted granddaughter, Elizabeth Johnson, at home; two stepsons, Josh Johnson of Delphi and Jarmy Johnson (wife: Stacey) of Battle Ground; one stepdaughter, Jessica Hansen (husband: Matt) of Lafayette; two sisters, Penny Richards (husband: Bob) of Camden, and Linda Goldsberry (husband: Wayne) of Walton; and 17 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
  Services were Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, with burial at Camden Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
