James Luff

Death: Mar. 13, 2009

James Robert "Trapper" Luff, 53, of Lafayette, died at 2:58 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, in Methodist Hospital in Indinapolis.

He was born Sept. 16, 1955, in Lafayette to Anna Kathryn Sholty Luff and the late James Raymond Luff. He married Marcia M. Leach on June 13, 1992, in Lafayette, and she survives.

Mr. Luff was a nurse's aide for Wabash Valley Hospital and the Indiana Veterans' Home.

He was a member of Brown Street United Methodist Church, and a veteran of the Air Force. He enjoyed playing poker, camping and fishing and was active in martial arts for most of his life. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Surviving with his mother, who lives in Lafayette, are two sons, Jason Luff (wife: Denyse) and David Luff (wife: Kristina "Tina"), both of Lafayette; two sisters, Diana Luff of Palmer, Alaska, and Susan Bixler (husband: Richard "Joe") of Lafayette; and a brother, Randy Luff (wife: Sandy) of Lafayette.

Also surviving are 6 grandchildren.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with services there at 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Dr. Earl Owen officiating. Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Childrens Home in Lebanon.

I am so sorry to hear about Jim. He was a sweet guy in high school. Wonder how I could get ahold of Diane Luff?
