Sharon Quesenbery - Class Of 1974 VIEW PROFILE

Sharon Quesenbery

Sharon Y. Quesenbery, age 66, entered heaven Monday, April 18, 2022.
She was born January 6, 1954, the daughter of James and Elsie (Hill)
Quesenbery. She graduated from Delphi High School in 1974, Ivy Tech in
1988 and from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1990 with a business
degree. She worked for 26 years at Home Hospital in various units as
secretary and aide.
Sharon was very active in the Lafayette community. She was involved with
youth ministries at her church. She taught Sunday School for many years.
and was involved in Junior Church missions. She would do craft prep for
VBS. She also was a volunteer at the Art Museum and did some
substitute teaching in the Lafayette schools. She really enjoyed tutoring
students in an after school program. She was a member of the Lafayette
Civic Theater where she was a season ticket holder.
She had several hobbies. She had a keen interest in photography. She
enjoyed reading, attending plays, shows and concerts.
Sharon loved living in Lafayette and gave generously to many charities.
She provided sandwiches, clothing and bedding for some of the Lafayette
shelters. She made contributions to a local food shelter. She donated
school supplies for children in the Lafayette elementary schools. One of
her last projects was to provide supplies for the Animal Shelter.
One of her greatest loves was travel. Some highlights were an Alaskan
cruise, Hawaii, and the Bahamas. She also traveled throughout the states.
Frankenmuth, Michigan was a favorite destination. She enjoyed music and
traveled to several of the Oak Ridge Boys concerts over a period of 44
years.
Her family was very important to Sharon. As her nephews were growing
up, she enjoyed spending time with them and taking them to various local
events. She loved hosting her family on Christmas Eves for a meal and
bingo with prizes. She was great at remembering birthdays. One could
always expect a card in the mail from her. She enjoyed calling often just to
keep in touch with everyone.
Later in life, Sharon faced her health challenges with perseverance and
determination and will be remembered for doing things “her way”. She will
be missed.
Surviving Sharon are her father, Jim Quesenbery of Delphi, her sisters
Libby (Dave) Bauer of Hayward, WI and Jan (Paul) Sloan of West Lafayette.
Her brother, Jim (Dianne) Quesenbery lives in Delphi. She is also survived
by nieces Sarah Bauer of Minneapolis, MN and Katie Sloan of Aurora, IL.
Her nephews are Ben Quesenbery of Columbus, IN, Daniel Quesenbery of
Lafayette, and Jake (Allison) Quesenbery from Athens, AL. Great nieces
and nephews are Halle, Wyatt, Ryan and Reagan. She is also survived by
several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, El Quesenbery, who passed
away November 23, 2021.
She was a member of The Branch Wesleyan Church where her memorial
service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022. Her family will receive visitors
beginning at 10:00 followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00. The church
is located at 2040 Schuyler Avenue, Lafayette. Pastor Logan Patriquin will
officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Sharon’s honor to the Branch
Wesleyan Church or the Lafayette Civic Theater.
