Michael Baker

Michael Paul Baker, 58, of Terre Haute, passed away March 25, 2017. He was born July 12, 1959, in Logansport, the son of Daniel and Laura Baker.

He graduated from Delphi High School class of 1977, attended Indiana State University and graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of social work. He obtained his master's of social work in 2002 from IUPUI.
He was preceded in death by his Uncle Thomas and Aunt Bonnie Tesh.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Baker; his son, Nathan Baker and his fiancee Maria Enriquez; his granddaughter, Liliana Baker; and his grandson, Jackson Baker. He also is survived by his brother, Pat
Baker and his wife Janet and their children Scott Baker and Julie Moyers; his brother, David Baker and his wife Debbie along with their children Alex Baker and Bernie Baker.

Mike worked for over 25 years for Family and Child Services, and for Vigo County Prosecutor's Office, Adult Protective Services for five years. He also did drug and alcohol counseling for the Vigo County Court System. Additionally, he was an instructor at Ivy Tech for six years. However, his love for the Lord brought him the most joy. His ministry of two churches in West Terre Haute, First United Methodist and Bethesda United Methodist, were very close to his heart. He was extremely grateful for the time he was involved with these churches. He loved his church families.

Mike was very involved with the Emmaus Community; he enjoyed working and being the chaplain for many Walks. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren, golfing and being with his wife of 35 years.

Services will be Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, from noon until 3 p.m. with a service to honor his life following at 3 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Wheaton
and Pastor Rick Swan officiating.
