Marcella Hawn (Garrard)

Marcella “Marcy” Jane Garrard, 65, Brownsburg, passed away May 23, 2024 while surrounded by family. Marcy was born in Lafayette, IN on December 18, 1958, the daughter of Richard and M. Kathleen (Clifford) Hawn. Marcy graduated from Delphi High School where she was captain of both her volleyball and basketball teams. Following school, Marcy worked at National Homes where she met her husband of nearly 45 years, Art Garrard, whom she loved deeply. She worked many years in healthcare with both pediatric and diabetic patients. Her passions included her family, music, singing, and cake decorating. She was a dedicated member of the Church@Main in Brownsburg and a volunteer of Girls Night In and the Blessing Box Ministry. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mary Kathleen Hawn. Survivors include her husband Art Garrard; children Kelly Prickett (husband Aaron), Amy Semler (husband Beau), Cari Olsen (husband Sam) and Wes Frink (wife Ruth); sisters Teresa Miller and Angela Hawn; bothers Dennis Hawn and David Hawn; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be from 3pm to 5pm Thursday May 30 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 5pm. 

In lieu of flowers and meals for the family, donations can be made in Marcy’s name to the Blessing Box Ministry. Non-perishable donation items may be dropped off and placed in the large brown container at the entrance of door one to the Church@Main building (1500 East Main St. in Brownsburg), or monetary donations can be made to Church@Main and mailed to PO Box 1279, Brownsburg, IN 46112. Any donations will be used for the Blessing Box food items in honor of Marcy.
