Clyde Collins, Jr. - Class Of 1979

Clyde Collins, Jr. 51, of Lafayette, died at Franciscan Health, St. Elizabeth East 7:37 p.m. Saturday March 3, 2012. He had been a patient there since suffering a heart attack 6 days ago.


Clyde was born in Delphi, on November 3, 1960, the son of the late Clyde R. and Betty J. Collins. He was a graduate of Dephi High School and Lincoln Technical Institute as an ASE Master Automobile Mechanic. He had most recently worked at the Muffler Man. Clyde was a member of Trinity Chapel Church in Thorntown.

He married Barbara A. Scott in Lafayette March 26, 1994 and she survives.

Surviving beside his wife is a step-daughter, Lori A. Brock (husband Nelson) of Bethleham, Ga.; 2 step-sons, Sam Westmoreland (wife Terri) of Thorntown and Jason Westmoreland (wife Annie) of Dayton; a brother Robert Collins of Plano, Tex., and a sister Teresa Bullington (husband Scott) of Delphi. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Chapel Church in Thorntown 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Sam Westmoreland officiating. Graveside services will be held at Fairhaven Cemetery in Mulberry at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may best express sympathy with memorials to the Collis family to assist with expenses.
