John Franklin

John Leroy Franklin, 56, lifelong resident of Delphi, passed away Monday-December 12, 2022, at 1:56am at his mother's home in Moore Haven, FL, after a 3-year battle with cancer. He was born December 7, 1966, in Lafayette, to the late Leroy N. "Johnny" Franklin, and his mother Marjorie A. "Marge" Liebert Franklin who survives. He graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1985 and received his BS degree from Purdue University in 1989 in Industrial Management. He worked at Tate & Lyle N. plant in Lafayette for the past 17 years, and was a steward for the union, and enjoyed meeting and working with his fellow teammates at the plant. He enjoyed fishing, and water activities, loved being outside and hanging with his friends. He especially liked to visit his parents' home in Moore Haven, FL, and Bonita Springs, enjoying the Florida sunshine. He dearly loved his family and being with them for all occasions. He was close to his 2 nephews and niece and liked keeping up with the new adventure's life was bringing them. John had a contagious smile and never met a stranger. Surviving: mother-Marjorie A. Franklin of Delphi, brother-Matt & Murri Franklin of Chesterton, niece-Sailor Franklin, nephews-Riley Franklin & Toby Franklin.
