Brian Ballard - Class Of 1986

Brian E. Ballard, 40, of Delphi, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, from complications following cancer surgery.

Born in Lafayette on March 25, 1968, to Monfort J. "Monk" Ballard and the late Dorothy L. Garrison Ballard, he was a lifelong resident of Delphi. He married Yolanda K. Morris on Aug. 15, 2005, in Delphi, and she survives.

Mr. Ballard was employed at Young's Culligan in Delphi as a service technician for the past four years. He formerly was employed at Globe Valve Corp. for 16 years.

He was a former member of the Rockfield Christian Church and enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley, watching his kids ball games and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving with his wife and father are two sons, Bryant P. Ballard, at home, and Dylan R. Ballard of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Alyssa H. Ballard, and two stepdaughters, Deneé M. Peterson and Christina D. Peterson, all at home; his stepmother, Lorene Ballard of Camden; and a sister, Debbie Frier (husband, Larry) of Lafayette.

Services were held Saturday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette, with the Rev. Melvin Kuntzman officiating. Interment was in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
