Nancy Jane Buchanon Cook, 61, of Chandler, Ariz., died March 27, 2003, in her residence. Born in White County on Nov. 28, 1941, she was the daughter of Lincoln and Francis Buchanon. She was a 1959 graduate of Delphi High School. She married Phillip Cook of Battle Ground on Sept. 6, 1959 and they lived in Delphi until 1974. Mrs. Cook worked as a waitress at Purdue and the Flame in Lafayette. She was a member of the Delphi Christian Church. Surviving are a son, Barry Cook of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Donna Shappert of Colorado Springs, Karen Sanchez of Mesa, Ariz., and LeAnn Bird of Rock Island, Ill.; two brothers, Dean Buchanon of Judsonia, Ark., and John Buchanon Sr. of Delphi; two sisters, Barbara Humphrey of Delphi, and Kathy Freeman of Camden: eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and a sister. Services are pending in Arizona.
