David Marler

David R. Marler,79, formerly of Delphi and West Lafayette, passed away Tuesday-August 24, 2021, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. He moved there a year ago to be closer to his daughter. He was born September 17, 1941 in Champaign, IL, to the late Raymond & Margery Bender Marler. He was a 1959 graduate of Delphi High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving from 1960-1964 as a communications operator. He worked for 42 years at ALCOA in Lafayette as a press operator, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Navy Club in Lafayette, and a former member of the Delphi American Legion Post 75, and the ALCOA 25 year club. He enjoyed golfing, and was an avid Chicago Cubs Baseball fan. He liked NASCAR, especially driver Tony Stewart. He dearly loved his family and grandchildren, and enjoyed their sporting and school functions he would attend. Surviving: daughter-Coreliss & Rich Graves of Morgantown; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren survive. He was preceded in death by his son Jon Marler. Services: A graveside service will be Monday at 11am at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg. Pastor Kyle Siegfred officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Carroll County Honor Guard.
