Ted Ratcliff - Class Of 1959 VIEW PROFILE

Ted Ratcliff

Ted L. Ratcliff, 69, of 2445 W. Towpath Road, Burnettsville, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. He had been a patient there the past nine days, and had been battling cancer since July.

Born March 27, 1941, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Robert M. Ratcliff and Mary F. Richardson McWilliams. He was a 1959 graduate of Delphi High School and attended Purdue University for one year, where he was in the Army ROTC.

On Feb. 18, 1961, he married Patricia E. "Pat" Hufford in Delphi, and she survives.

Mr. Ratcliff farmed and raised livestock his entire life in Carroll County, near Lockport. He also worked for the post office as a route carrier, at Alcoa in Lafayette, co-owned Ratcliff Real Estate with his father and drove a semi truck, retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed antique cars, fishing, hunting, and his farm and animals.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Christine Wagner (companion: Philip Cable), and a son, Glen Ratcliff (companion: Carla Smith), both of Burnettsville.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Hayley and Garret Wagner of Burnettsville; an aunt, Virginia Thompson of Delphi; and an uncle and aunt, Dean and Joanne Ratcliff of Rockfield. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherrell Weston; and a grandson, Justin Wagner.

Ted dearly loved his wife, daughter, son, his two grandchildren and all of their activities, and all of his extended family and many friends.
