
Richard Lee "Dick" Storey, 83, of Delphi, passed away Sunday-October 5, 2025, at 12:05am, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. He was born on October 21, 1941, in Delphi, to the late Kellar & Geneva Draper Storey. His marriage was to Carole A. Henderson in Delphi, on May 25, 1963, and she survives. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1959. He previously worked at Schwab Safe in Lafayette for 6 years and was a parttime Delphi Police Officer in the late 70's and early 80's. He worked at the former ALCOA, now Arconic in Lafayette, for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 2002. He and his wife were members of the Delphi Pentacostal Church. He had his pilot's license and belonged to the Carroll County Flyers Club, and the Wildcat Valley Pistol Club. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar and fiddles, especially bluegrass & gospel. He loved NASCAR, and his Mustang he had fixed up and loved showing it at local car shows. He enjoyed his motorcycles, especially his Harley's. Going for rides and traveling across the U.S. He loved to be outside, loved to mushroom hunt, hunt, yard work keeping his property perfectly maintained, and was the eternal tinker. He dearly loved his wife and family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving: wife-Carole A. Storey of Delphi, daughter-Renee & Scott McLeland of Delphi, daughter-Rhonda & Martin Lowe of St. Johns, FL, daughter-Rachel Hegel & Mike Beherns of Wolcott, son-Rick & Alicia Storey II of Delphi. Brother-David & Janie Storey of Delphi, brother-Raymond & Mary Storey of Frankfort, sister-Geneva Lucas of Greencastle, sister-Kelly Howard of Cedar Lake. 8 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a brother Joe, nephew Eddie. Services: Visitation will be Thursday from 11am until his funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Tim Stewart officiating.
