Bob Toole

John R. “Bob” Toole, 76, of Delphi, Indiana, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
Born on October 29, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana he was the son of the late John Earl and Mae Elizabeth (Riley) Toole. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1959 and attended Indiana State University for six months. Bob married LeAnn A. (Reppert) Toole on July 26, 1964 in Carroll County, she survives.
Bob owned and operated Sunoco gas station in the early 60’s, he then worked for Duncan Meter from 1963-1973 as a tool & die maker. He was employed by the Delphi City Police Department from 1969-1989 as a Reserves Police Officer. Bob worked for the REMC in Delphi as a Member Services Advisor and retired on April 14, 2006 after 34 years. He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church. He was a past member of Delphi Jaycees. Bob truly loved fishing and golfing. He was a great craftsman and did a lot of wood working projects.
Bob leaves behind his wife, LeAnn; two sons, Shannon Toole of Rockfield, Indiana and Shane Toole of Brookston, Indiana; two grandchildren, Trevor L. Toole and Kerigan R. Toole; sister, Patricia (Tom) Porter of Lafayette, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Memorial visitation will on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Hippensteel Tribute Center and Funeral Home (405 Cottage Street in Delphi). Pastor Todd Ladd will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Leukemia & Lymphomas Society, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Delphi United Methodist Church.
