Carol Lane (O'Farrell)

Carol J. O’Farrell, 80, of rural Delphi, passed away May 17, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 15, 1936, in Delphi to the late Wilbur Eugene and Clova (Ottinger) Lane. On November 24, 1956, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi, she married Paul Thomas O’Farrell; he passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Carol was a 1954 graduate of Delphi High School of Delphi.

She had lived and farmed in rural Carroll County her entire life.

Carol had worked for the Twin Lakes School Corporation of Monticello for forty – five years.

She was a lifetime member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Delphi, and had served as a president of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

Carol was highly involved in all aspects of the Carroll County 4-H program.

She was always “ring side” to watch her grandchildren exhibit livestock at the county, state fairs, and open shows.

Surviving is a daughter, Rita (Don) Paul of Delphi; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Illita Maxine Brewer of Monticello; brother, Arthur L. “Art” (Ida) Lane of Delphi; sisters-in-law, Deloris (husband Joe) Hildebrant, and Sharon O’Farrell, both of Delphi, and Martha O’Farrell of Lafayette; brother-in-law, Charles O’Farrell of Lafayette.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, Mark O’Farrell.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m., May 19th, at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., May 20th, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Delphi.

Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Delphi.
