Patricia Reifert (Abbott)

  Patricia Ann Abbott, 56, of Rt. 6, Rensselaer, formerly of Delphi, died at 11:20 a.m. (CST) Oct. 27, 1992, in Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer.
  Born June 20, 1936, in Delphi, she was the daughter of Marcus "Pat" and Mary Shuey Reifert.  Her marriage was on Oct. 9, 1954, in Delphi to Tillman Abbott.
  Mrs. Abbott was a 1954 graduate of Delphi High School and attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis.  She resided in the Delphi area until 1981, then she and her husband moved to Leesburg.  They resided there for five years before moving to Rensselaer in October 1987.
  She was employed as a legal secretary for Attorney Mahlon Kerlin and had worked at the Dairy Barn, both in Delphi.  She also worked at the former SAYCO and was in charge of the detasseling program at Pioneer Seeds, both in Flora.  She did volunteer secretarial work for Delphi Christian Church, where she was a former member.
  Mr. Abbott was a member of Iroquois Valley Christian Church in Rensselaer and sang in the choir.  She enjoyed working on her family genealogy and fishing.
  Surviving with her husband are three sons, Farris W. Abbott of Rt. 2, Camden; John C. Abbott of Carterville, Ill., and Dirk B. Abbott of Rensselaer, her mother, Mary Moore of Rt. 4, Delphi; two sisters, Mary Lytle of Monticello and Virginia Cox of Rossville; a brother, David M. Reifert of Camden; and six grandchildren.
  Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, with Pastor Glen Crouse officiating.  Burial will be in Camden Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis.
