Wayne Mullin

Wayne C Mullin, 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at his residence.
Wayne was born in Logansport to the late Estal T. Mullin and Mabel E. (Benner) Mullin. He was married to Eileen Ruth Yoder on October 1, 1960, in Mount Ayr. Eileen proceeded him in death on April 16, 2001.
Wayne graduated from Delphi High School in 1955. He attended Purdue University and then served in the United States Army Reserve in the Communication Center and Warehouse Operations. Obtaining the rank of Buck Sergeant, Wayne was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves at the end of his contract.
Wayne spent the next 37 years working for the Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service as a Construction Surveyor and Inspector until his retirement in 1996.
He worked on the family farm throughout his life and was a true Chicago Cubs fan. He was so excited when the “Cubbies” won the World Series. He was also a Purdue sports and Indianapolis Colts fan.
He is survived by his 3 children, Cheryl (Jim) Mills of Lafayette, Doug (Cheryl) Mullin of Rossville, and Mitchell (Gayla) Mullin of Port St. Lucie, FL; 5 grandchildren, Stacey (James) Nelson, Ashley (Peter) Dalpe, Tyler Mullin, Hunter Mullin, and Taylor Mullin; 2 great-grandchildren, Jay Riley and Sarah Nelson; a sister, Diane Schnabel of Linton; niece, Debbie (Jim) Peregrin of Lexington, KY; and nephew, Jeff (Chris) Mullin of Swepsonville, NC.
Along with his wife Eileen, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bethany L. Mullin; his brother, Keith B. Mullin; sister-in-law, Donna Mullin; and brother-in-law, Mark Schnabel.
Per Wayne’s request, no services will be held.
Millie and Curly Haughn were considered family to Wayne and his family; therefore, memorial contributions may be given to Millie’s Thrift Store, 101 Plaza Lane, Lafayette, IN 47909 to help support the Lafayette community.
