Dick Hathaway

 Charles R. "Dick" Hathaway, 59, of 424 N us 421, Delphi, died at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 5, 1997, in University Hospital, Indianapolis.
  Born Nov. 7, 1937, in Lafayette, he was the son of Earl and Hazel McClellan Hathaway.  His marriage was on Aug. 23, 2959, in Flora, to Suzanne L. Spitler, who survives.
  He graduated from Delphi High School in 1956.  In January 1972, he purchased the Delphi Auto Machine Shop, which is still a family owned and operated business.
  Mr. Hathaway was a member of the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren, Carroll County Country Club, and the Thursday Night Men's Golf League.  He was an avid golfer.
  Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa A. Hamm of Knightstown and Bethany A. Foster of Delphi; a son, Alec T. Hathaway of Delphi; seven brothers, Marion Hathaway of Tempe, Ariz., Robert Hathaway of Bennettsville, S.C., Donald Hathaway of Hemet, Calif., George Hathaway of Jamestown, Ky., Wayne Hathaway of Kokomo, Orville Hathaway of Delphi, and Tom Hathaway of Southport; six sisters, Thelma Peters of Idaville, Nellie Peters of Camden, Lucille Geisler of Burnettsville, Jesse Allen of Greenwood, Ruby Kempf of Crawfordsville, and Edna Capper of Monticello; and three grandchildren.  An infant son, a brother, and a sister preceded him in death.
  Services were Sunday at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi with Pastor Terry Vaught officiating.  Burial was in Zion Cemetery, Flora.
