Wayne R. Pearson, 77, of Wolcott passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He had been a resident of St. Elizabeth Healthcare since October 2, 2015.

He was born January 21, 1938 to Robert E. and Ethel (Dubes) Pearson. He met Janeth Primmer of Wolcott in 1988, and they were later married.

Wayne resided in Carroll County for many years where he owned and operated the family propane business now referred to as Pearson's of Delphi. During his career he also owned a fertilizer company, Pearson's Farm Service. In conjunction with another local business man, he built and later donated the municipal airport to the city of Delphi.

Wayne had been a part of the Wolcott community for many years where he enjoyed his neighbors, friends, and socializing in the community. He was a former member of the Wolcott Progressive Club, John Purdue Club and participated in a local card group. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his home in Ormond Beach, Florida where he wintered with his wife.

Surviving with his wife Janeth are his children, Katrina (Alan) Coghill of Delphi, Karla (Nicklaus) Cronk of Lafayette, Craig (Kelly) Boller of St. Augustine, Florida, Amy (Jimmy) Clark of Carey, IL, and Michael (Joanie) Pearson of Eudora, KS; 10 grandchildren, Colin and Brianne Stauffer, Sarah Coghill, Hayes and Coy Cronk, Logan and Travis Boller, Alexis, Kai, and Rylie Pearson.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Pearson.

Wayne enjoyed life and was a very vivacious individual. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and the family pet "Schatzie." He will be missed.

Friends may call from 2:00 pm (EDT) until time of service at 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott.

Memorial contributions may be given in Wayne's name to Katrina Coghill, Carroll County Community Foundation or to the ALS Association.
