Gary L. Alberts, 69, of Delphi, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at 2:40 a.m. at his residence.

Born July 16, 1939, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Robert Paul and Hilda Berneice Wise Alberts. His marriage was on May 30, 1959, in Cornace, Miss., to Sharon Politz, who preceded him in death Oct. 7, 2007.

Mr. Alberts was a 1957 graduate of Delphi High School.

He was retired from Ross Gear TRW after 38 years of service.

Mr. Alberts was a member of the Lafayette Moose Lodge. He enjoyed watching Purdue basketball, the Colts play football and was a NASCAR fan.

Surviving are a daughter, Kim Isley (husband: Steve) of Delphi; a son, Rob Alberts, of Delphi; a sister, Marsha Rossetter (husband: Jerry), of Delphi; three grandchildren, Kristin Alberts and Jonathan and Brittney Sales.

Preceding him in death were a son, Gary "Tiger" Alberts and two brothers, Tommy Joe Alberts and Kirby Dean Alberts.
