Carol S. Peterson Jeffries, 65, of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 12:41 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.  She had been admitted earlier that morning.
  Born in Carroll County on Jan. 8, 1938, she was the daughter of Thomas and Opal Metz Peterson.
  She was a 1957 graduate of Delphi High School.
  Mrs. Jeffries farmed and raised hogs in Carroll County, and was a homemaker.
  Her hobbies were cooking, mushroom hunting and the outdoors.
  Surviving are sons, Paul T. Jeffries of Brookston, Vince Jeffries of Monticello, and Joe A. Jeffries of Delphi; three brothers, Max Peterson, William "Bill" Peterson, Don Peterson, all of Delphi; and three grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by a brother.
  Services were Jan. 13 at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi.  Burial was at Musselman Cemetery in Camden.
  Memorials may be made to Carroll County Council on Aging.
