Joseph W. Messick Jr. (Joe) passed away at home March 24, 2018, he was 78 years old.  Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie (Foutch) Messick.  His parents Joe Sr. and Mildred Messick of Delphi, IN preceded Joe in death.

Besides his wife Bonnie, Joe is survived by his daughters Chrissy Adams and husband Lance, Elizabeth DeRossett, and son Jon Messick and wife Hope.  Grandchildren Tyler Adams (Heather), Derek Adams (Aubrey), Brock McVeigh (Nannette), Kelsey Thang (ThoSang), Khloe DeRossett, Nic and Gavin Messick, also Scott Arbino (Stacey) an honorary grandson. Great Grandchildren Brailyn, Landen, Cooper and Camden Adams and Baby Adams to be born in October.

Joe graduated from Delphi High School in 1957; he served in the United States Navy from 1957-1960, and graduated from Tri-State University in 1965.  He went on to work 31 years for Public Service Indiana retiring in 1996 as Senior Vice-President of power production.

His greatest accomplishment was his family and he thoroughly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed golfing, reading and was an active member of the Hazelwood Christian Church and Windfall Christian Church.  He was a staunch supporter of education and encouraged everyone to reach beyond his or her goals.

The viewing will be held Wednesday March 28 from 4-7pm with the funeral being Thursday, 10am at Porter's Funeral Home Tipton, IN.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Normanda Cemetery.  Since Joe suffered with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for years, instead of flowers the family requests that donations be made to CurePSP at the following address:
