Thomas E. Veach, 27, of Rockfield, died at 4:50 a.m. June 30, 1997, from cancer, in Home Hospital, Lafayette.
  Born Dec. 1, 1969, in Lafayette, he was the son of Roy and Roxie Pattengale Veach.  His marriage was on May 29, 1989, in Burrows, to Susan E. Appleton, who survives.
  He was a 1988 graduate of Delphi Community High School and attended Ivy Tech in Logansport.
  Mr. Veach had worked at IBP in Logansport for the past three months and before that worked at Quality Die Set in Flora.
  He served in the US Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992 and since then had served in the Indiana National Guard at Delphi.
  Also surviving are three children, Tamara Nicole Veach, Ivan Boyd Veach, and David Edward Veach, all at home; his parents, of Rt. 3, Delphi; a brother, Troy Veach of Rt. 3, Delphi; and his paternal grandmother, Evylan Veach of Camden.  He was preceded in death by one son.
  Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating.  Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m.  Burial will be in Rockfield IOOF Cemetery, with military rites.
