Jon D. Marler, 49, of Columbus, OH, formerly of West Lafayette, died unexpectedly Tuesday-Nov 12, 2019 at 12:29pm at his residence. He was born January 30, 1970 in Kokomo to David R. Marler, and his mother Esther Wilson Conklin, who survive. He was a 1989 graduate of Delphi Community High School, and a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving 6 years, stationed in Pensacola, FL and Guam, as a IT security specialist. He worked in the IT field for several different companies. He attended Crossing Community Church in Columbus, and was very active with their men's group, and participated in several community service projects through his church. He enjoyed cooking, especially his homemade salsa. He liked to visit state parks, being outside enjoying nature, and photography while exploring whichever park he was in. He enjoyed the Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Cubs, he also liked to watch WWE wrestling. Surviving: daughters-Meagan E. Marler of Delphi, Rebecca R. Marler of Zionsville; sons-Jeff Crowder & Sara Young of Columbus, OH, Randy Hoffman & Alyson Jackson of Flora; father-David R. Marler of West Lafayette; mother-Esther Wilson Conklin of Smithville, TN; sister-Coreliss & Richard Graves of Morgantown; paternal grandma-Marjorie Marler of Franklin; half sister-Ashley Guess of Smithville, TN; sister-Denise & Larry King of Florida; brothers-Stephen Wisehart of Kentucky, Kenny & Misty Day of Kentucky; biological mother-Ann Stanley; 5 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his paternal grandpa Raymond Marler; maternal grand parents Helen & Harold Wilson. Services: The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11am until his memorial service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Chad Pumpelly officiating. Military Rites by the Carroll County Honor Guard. Private family burial.
