Tamerlyn Brown (Schock)

Tamerlyn K. "Tammy" Brown Schock, 31, and her sons, Jeremiah C. Smith, 9, and Zachary D. Smith, 6, of Bringhurst, died at 4:40 a.m. on March 14, 2003, in a fire at their home.
  Born Feb. 25, 1972, in Lafayette, Mrs. Schock was the daughter of Richard Brown and Roberta Popejoy Mattio.  She graduated in 1990 from Delphi Community High School and Wright's Beauty Academy in Logansport, in 1990.  She also received an associate's degree from Ivy Tech State College in 1992.
  She married Rodney L. Schock in Camden on Oct. 27, 2000, and he survives.
  Mrs. Schock worked fro Sky-Line Signs of Delphi, as a computer graphic designer for three years.  She had previously worked for the former Brand Signs in Lafayette for three years and as a stylist for Country Hair II and JAG's Salon & Day Spa, both in Delphi.
  Her hobbies were camping and the outdoors.
  Tammy and her sons are survived by their father, Patrick W. Smith of Delphi; stepfather, Rodney L. Schock of Bringhurst; paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Rose Smith of Delphi; and maternal great-grandparents, Theran and Helen Brown of Lafayette.
  Mrs. Schock and her sons are also survived by her son and their brother, Andrew T. Smith of Delphi, who is Zachary's twin; and her stepdaughter and their stepsister, Eden Schock of Logansport.  She is also survived by her mother and stepfather, Roberta and Dennis Mattio of Crown Point; her father and stepmother, Richard and Peggy Brown of Remington; and her half-sister, Whitney Brown of Monticello.
  Services were March 18 in Pittsburg, with burial at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.  Abbott Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to an account through Salin Bank and Trust, for benefit of Rodney Schock and Andrew Smith.

We laughed together, we cried together, we even lived together! So many good times, so many great memories!! I'll always love and miss you! I'm still reminded of you so often. You'd be SO proud of Andrew! He's such a great kid!

Candice Johnson (Watkins) (1990)

I met Tammy at Purple Turtle when I was 4 years old.  Our grandmothers were best friends.  I remember her smile and some of the crazy things we did together.  I was shocked when I heard about this.  It took my breath away.  May her soul rest in peace.
