Cheryl Wesner (Sears)

Cheryl Wesner Sears, age 49, of Carmel, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born on January 29, 1972, in Lafayette, IN to Don and Mary (Shierling) Wesner. Cheryl was a 1990 graduate of Delphi Community High School where she was a member of the pom squad, and her senior year was the football homecoming queen. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Ball State University. While at Ball State she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was the manager for Olive Garden for many years, with her most recent position in Noblesville, IN. Cheryl had a love for music, which began at an early age, attending Delphi United Methodist church, where she was inspired by her mother who was the organist and father; choir director, and enjoyed being a member of the children’s choir. She loved to watch musicals and one her favorite musicals was ‘The Sound of Music’. She also enjoyed listening to music, especially when living in Nashville, TN, she enjoyed going with her husband to Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge to watch her favorite singer Jake Mauer. Some of her other favorite activities were making crafts, cooking, hiking, going to Colts games, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, William (Chip) Sears; her mother, Mary; sister, Leigh Anne Knight; nephews, Jakob and Gavin Knight; as well as other extended family. She is preceded in death by her father, Don. E. Wesner. Cheryl was in the hospital for many weeks before hospice care. She was able to come home just before she passed and was very happy to be in her home with her husband. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main Street, Carmel, IN 46033 on Friday December 17th, 2021. There will be a gathering to provide condolences to the family, share favorite memories, and stories of Cheryl from 10am-noon, followed by the service. In lieu of flowers; donations to help with medical & funeral expenses can be made to either the Go Fund Me account, https://gofund.me/93df6d33, or donation box will be available at the church. Cheryl was a ray of light on earth, her pain is gone and she is now singing with the angels. Cheryl lived every day like it was a gift. Let’s honor her memory by living life to the fullest every day.

Susan Waligorski (Klopfenstein) (1990)

I am so sad to hear of Cheryls passing. She was a kind person and had a funny outlook on life. Almost always smiling and interested in others. She will, no doubt , be greatly missed.
