Christopher M. Kennedy 30, of Flora, died at 8 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2004, at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Lafayette.  He had been ill since April, and a resident there for the past two and one-half months.
  Born in Lafayette on Aug. 28, 1974, he was the son of Patrick and Pearl Hardebeck Kennedy.  He was a 1994 graduate of Delphi Community High School.
  His marriage was to Rita Bailey in Delphi, on July 6, 2002, and she survives.
  Mr. Kennedy worked for the Carroll County YMCA in Flora.
  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi.
  He participated in Special Olympics and was on a three-time state championship basketball team.  He enjoyed Purdue men's sports.
  Surviving are his parents of Flora; five brothers, John Kennedy (wife: Bennita) of Columbus, Steve Kennedy (wife: Laura) of Lake Forrest, Ill., Thomas Kennedy (wife: Darcy) of St. Joseph, Mich., Joseph Kennedy (wife: Donita) of Cutler, David Kennedy (wife: Suzi) of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Kathryn Kniola (husband: Thomas) of Ogden Dunes, and Rosanne Burge (husband: Steve) of Carmel: eight nieces; six nephews; uncles; aunts; and cousins.
  Services were Oct. 5 in Delphi, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery Delphi.  Abbott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
  Memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Carroll County or Carroll County YMCA.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
