DELPHI — Billy Ray Adams, 70, of Delphi died 10:36 pm Friday at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette. He was born March 24, 1943 in Dorchester, Virginia to John E. and Ruth M. Harber Adams. On April 14, 1963 he married Nancy Sue Dishon, who survives. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1962. He first was employed at Fairfield Manfacturing in Lafayette for 20 years as a night shift quality inspector. He then was night supervisor for Globe Valve in Delphi for 10 years. He also was owner and operator of Adams Septic Service for 18 years. He was a member of the Elmwood Church of Christ, Lafayette. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed traveling.

Surviving with his wife; 2 daughters, Sherry Risley, Delphi; Kim Hollingsworth (husband, Troy) Homosassa, Florida; 1 son, John Adams (wife, Melissa) Brownsburg; 1 brother, Denny Adams (wife, Cheryl) Delphi; 5 grandchildren - Natasha Risley, Justin Gardiner (wife, April), Shelby Brooks, and Maggie & Wyatt Smith. Also surviving are 2 great grandchildren, Ariel Davis and Emma Gardiner.

Visitation will be Monday 4 to 8 pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi with the funeral there Tuesday 10:00 am with Pastor Gilbert Kerrigan officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburg. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, envelopes available at the funeral home.
