Cherie K. Berto Brummett, 53, of Lafayette, died unexpectedly Friday, February 19, 2016, at 3:09 pm at IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. She was born May 24, 1962 in Lafayette to the late Anthony G. “Tony” Berto, and her mother Marilyn Parsons Berto, who survives and lives in Delphi.
 
Her marriage was to Bradford L. “Brad” Brummett in Delphi on June 27, 1981, and he survives. She was a 1980 graduate of Delphi Community High School, and attended Ivy Tech. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi. She formerly belonged to the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
 
Cherie enjoyed cooking and baking, and a good euchre card game with her family. She enjoyed being outside, and loved to spend time next to a pool and swim, and enjoy the sun. She also loved to play tennis in her younger years, and enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her family. Cherie dearly loved her entire family. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys in life, working a puzzle together, or playing a game, that always brought a smile to her face.

Brummett of Lafayette; daughter-Jamie & Scott Spitznagle of Delphi; son-Chase & Elizabeth Brummett of Delphi; mother-Marilyn Berto of Delphi; sister-Michele Dorsey of San Jose, CA, Kim & Pat Wright of Indianapolis, her twin sister-Terrie Berto of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Trayven Brummett & Avery Spitznagle. Preceded in death by her mother & father in law: Kathleen & Leonard Brummett. 
 
Services: Friends may call Wednesday, February 24, from 11am to 1:00pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Her funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:30pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi, Father Robert Williams officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Delphi. Terrie Berto (1980)

Thank you to the class of 1980 for the lovely bench and helpful prayers. Cherie will sure be missed! We have many sweet memories of the good times spent in school with you. She really loved Delphi and her classmates and teachers. God Bless, 💗 Terrie (and the entire Berto and Brummett Family) 💗
