Marilyn Snyder (Haan)

Marilyn J. Haan, 63, of West Lafayette, died unepectedly at 11 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2006, at her residence.
  Born in Logansport on Feb. 14, 1943, she was the daughter of Mack and Ruth Snyder.  She was a 1961 graduate of Delphi Community High School and a 1964 graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing.
  Her marriage was to John Haan on Nov. 6, 1965, and he survives.
  Mrs. Haan was a registered nurse and worked for Dr. George Wagoner in Delphi.  She was employed at Heritage Healthcare in West Lafayette for 22 years, retiring in 2005.
  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Cairo Home Economics Club and the Battle Ground Steam and Gas Power Association.  She enjoyed antiquing and working in her flower beds.
  Surviving with her mother and husband are three daughters, Kathleen Shumard (husband: Michael) and Kristina Harp (husband: Ira "Sonny"), both of West Lafayette and Karen Kipp (husband: John) of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Marilou Broadbent (husband: Richard) of Sacramento, Calif., and Ellen Bruno (husband: Rich) of Rio Rancho, N.M.; eight grandchildren, Kaleb, Karisa and Kole Shumard, Allison and Abbagail Harp, Olivia and Matthew Bodine, Evan Parker and Hannah and Abraham Kipp.
  She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
  Services were Tuesday in Lafayette, with burial at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
  Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Tippecanoe County Steam and Gas Power Association, Tippecanoe County Extension Homemakers Club or charity of donor's choice.
