Patricia Moore McCormick, 82, passed away on January 14, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family. She spent her childhood in Delphi, Indiana, where she was raised by Wayne and Helen Talbert, alongside her cherished sister, Elaine McClure.
Patricia dedicated her life to helping others, especially as a teacher of young children and babies with special needs. Her huge heart and unwavering compassion touched the lives of many, as she found great joy in nurturing those who needed extra care and support.
An adventurous spirit at heart, Patricia lived in multiple states throughout her life. She loved to travel, immersing herself in different cultures and embracing new experiences wherever she went. One of her most meaningful chapters was spent in Arizona, where she worked as a teacher among Native American tribes. Later, in Alaska, she cared for special needs babies in Inuit communities. During these times, she built lasting connections and deepened her appreciation for diverse ways of life.
Patricia had a sharp mind and an insatiable curiosity, which she nurtured through a lifelong love of reading and a passion for solving puzzles. She also enjoyed nature, finding peace and inspiration in birdwatching—especially hummingbirds and robins—and delighted in the companionship of dogs, particularly pugs.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Renee, Kerry, and Megan. She was cremated, and her ashes will be spread over the beautiful Southwest landscape she loved.
To honor Patricia’s love of animals—particularly pugs—the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to a local Pug rescue. For anyone unsure of where to donate, directories such as Rescue Me! can help locate a nearby organization.
Her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
