Michael Busch

Michael Joe Busch, 76 of Delphi, passed away on Feb. 5, 2022 at his home. Mike was born to the late Edward K. and Edrie (Logan) Busch on August 15, 1945 in Lafayette. Mike was a 1963 graduate of Delphi High School. He studied Tool & Die Courses at ICS.

He served in the Army from 1963 -1967. He was stationed at FT Gordon in Georgia and served in South Korea.

He married Melody Kenworthy on Dec. 23, 1969 at the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren and she survives.

He worked at Gerber Plumbing Fixtures as a tool & die maker for 38 years. He had also worked for Alloy Custom Products from 2004-2008 retiring in 2008.

Mike was a member of the American Legion Post #75 and Globe Valve UAW.

He enjoyed restoring cars and trucks. Mike was a dedicated caregiver and nurturer of God’s Earth; he was a master wood craftsman, mushroom hunter, fisherman, apple cider maker. He enjoyed watching eagles from the bench in his backyard, he could imitate their call and they would check him out. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Melody Busch, sons: Randle Busch (Crystal) of Flora, Todd Busch (Jessica) of Delphi; siblings: Larry Busch (Marge), Steve Busch of Delphi, Judy Hamilton of Logansport; his sister-in-law, Joan Kenworthy of Washington State; grandchildren: Kadince, Sawyer, and Bradley Busch.

He was preceded by his parents, sister, Donna Elmore; nephew, Alan Busch; brother-in-law, John Hamilton brother-in-law, Jim Kenworthy and sister-in-law, Barbara Adams.

Family and friends will gather from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm memorial service at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022. Pastor Guy Studebaker officiating. Military rites by the Carroll County Honor Guard. Burial at a later date at Pleasant Run Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to the Almost Home Shelter in Lafayette or the Carroll County Wildlife.
