Connie S. Downing Tignor, 53, of Lafayette, died at 1:15 p.m., Nov. 15, 1998, at Home Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
   Born Oct. 24, 1945, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Leonard O. and Jane L. Brookshire Downing.  Her marriage was on Sept. 25, 1965, to Jerry R. Tignor, who survives.
   She was a 1963 graduate of Delphi Community High School and had lived in Lafayette for 33 years.
   Mrs. Tignor had worked in the accounting department at Home Hospital for 13 years.
   Also surviving are one son, Jerry L. Tignor, and her mother, both of Lafayette.  She was preceded in death by her father and a sister.
   Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Peters officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the IOOF Riverview Cemetery, Monticello.
